DESCRIPTION

A pygmy seahorse blends in perfectly with a deeply colored sea fan. It faces the camera gently as it moves with the current.

Pygmy seahorses are are the the smallest seahorses species on earth (1.4 cm to 2.7 cm). It takes some training and dedication to spot them in a seafan. I visited this particular pygmy seahorse over the course of a month, waiting for the seafan to open and show it’s beautiful red colors. It always took some time to find him but this shot of him facing the camera amidst a vibrantly coloured seafan was well worth it.
